Hôtel Augusta Barcelona Vallés, la meilleure option pour visiter Montseny

The Augusta Barcelona Vallès is an attractive option for those searching for hotels in Montseny. We are found very close to this magnificent natural park, which was declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in 1978 and has a surface area of more than 30,000 hectares. Here we’ll explain where our hotel is, how you can easily get to this protected area and which are some of the most interesting activities to do inside the park.

  • Activities and nature in Montseny Natural Park

It goes without saying that some of the best things about the hotels in Montseny are coming into contact with nature and engaging in outdoor activities such as, hiking, with hundreds of kilometres of trails waiting to be discovered. Some of these trails are long-distance trails, such as Els Tres Monts (Three Mountains)—which is 106 km long—while there are also others that are easier and shorter, such as the Collformic–Matagalls trail, Collformic–Pla de la Calma–Tagamanent trail and Turó de l'Home–Les Agudes trail. Many of them can be done with a guide, just as many of them can also be done on two wheels, as Montseny Natural Park is a paradise for MTB.
But these are not the only active tourism options for those staying at hotels in Montseny. Not by a long shot. Other excellent ideas are going horseback riding with Hípica Can Vila or coming into contact with animals at Ecogranja Salgot.
And for those who wish to enjoy the visit by delighting their taste buds, there's the possibility of going to Companyia Cervesera del Montseny for some craft beer or Centre de Manipulació de la Castanya for chestnuts and chestnut products.

    Montseny and culture

You can also enjoy cultural activities within this natural park, which are the perfect complement or alternative to the above-mentioned options. Within the confines of Montseny, there are monuments that are simply remarkable for both their beauty and their history. Here you’ll find, for example, remains of the Iberian wall of Montgròs, which was built by the Ausetani, or mediaeval castles whose remains still stand, as well as Romanesque churches and charming shrines.
Montseny Natural Park also has museums and ethnological centres where you can enjoy exhibitions, audiovisual presentations and workshops related to the history, customs and the flora and fauna of this green lung in Catalonia. Fine examples of these are Centre Can Casades, Guilleries Museum, Josep Aragay Museum or Espai Montseny, which are found scattered throughout the different towns inside the park.
Without a doubt, the latter are fantastic ideas for guests of the hotels in Montseny who wish to explore the park by car and at a more leisurely pace. And for all these, the Augusta Barcelona Vallès is certainly one of the most attractive options.

  • Starting point
    To discover Montseny

The strategic position of the Augusta Barcelona Vallès and its proximity to this natural park make our hotel one of the most attractive hotel options in Montseny. Although we are found in the municipal district of Vilanova del Vallès, we are barely 30 km away from the park’s foothills—a distance that can easily be covered in a half-hour ride by car.
Aside from its proximity and the short travel time involved, another point in our favour is the ease of access: we are right next to the AP-7 toll motorway, which is precisely the road to be taken to get to this natural park when travelling from most of the towns in the province of Barcelona. Get off this toll motorway at Exit 11 and go along the BV-5301 for the last few kilometres, passing through the towns of Santa Maria de Palautordera and Sant Esteve de Palautordera, before arriving at the town of Montseny. Another alternative is to take Exit 11, pass through Sant Celoni and go along the roads BV-5114 and BV-5119, until you get to Mosqueroles, where the park’s visitor centre is located.
Going by car is not only the best option to get to the park, but it’s also a way to explore its nooks and crannies. This is because the organisation Turisme Montseny has come up with some scenic drives inside this natural reserve, such as those of Vall de la Tordera or Montseny Oriental.
And one of the great advantages of the Augusta Barcelona Vallès in comparison to other hotels in Montseny is our strategic position: we are halfway between Barcelona and the natural park, which means that our hotel is perfect for those who wish to enjoy the bustling city and bask in the peace of nature on the same trip.
